Who are we?

We were founded more than 20 years ago, supporting intended parents from a legal perspective. Over time, we realized their needs went beyond this and that the market didn’t offer comprehensive solutions. Thus, we evolved to become a comprehensive surrogacy agency, dedicated to making the dreams of diverse families around the world come true.

Today, at Wegest, we are an international agency with a presence in Latin America, especially in Colombia, offering ethical, close, and personalized support. We don’t directly perform the medical procedures; we coordinate and connect intended parents with top-level clinics and professionals, backed by more than two decades of experience.

Our commitment is to ensure you experience this process with peace of mind, security, and complete confidence. At Wegest, we take care of every detail so that forming the family you’ve always imagined is as clear and humane an experience as it deserves to be.

Colombia offers a unique combination of high medical standards, fertility clinics with extensive experience in in vitro fertilization and assisted reproduction, and more competitive costs than countries like the United States or Canada. The healthcare system boasts highly qualified professionals and cutting-edge technology, and the country has a recognized track record in fertility and surrogacy treatments for international clients. Furthermore, the legal framework allows for ethical and transparent processes, providing security for both intended parents and the surrogate mother.

Colombia respects and welcomes all types of families, including single parents and heterosexual or same-sex couples, both national and foreign, who, for medical, psychological, or biological reasons, cannot carry a child. In all cases, legal requirements must be met and a specialized team must be present.

Selection is carried out through a rigorous process that includes medical, psychological, and social evaluations. We ensure that the surrogate mother meets all physical and emotional health criteria and fully understands the process and its implications. The priority is the surrogate mother's well-being and the safety of the baby.

This includes centralized coordination of all parties involved in the pregnancy process, including medical, legal, and logistical support; the care, support, and support of the surrogate mother; pregnancy monitoring and reporting; premium medical and life insurance; resource management and distribution; psychological support; and the management of baby registration procedures and support for the parents' nationality. We also provide translation, transportation, and accommodation when necessary.

This depends on the intended parents; however, we believe in the importance of warmth and closeness in the humanitarian and altruistic process. Therefore, we encourage close communication between the intended parents and the surrogate, always respecting established agreements and being present to support and help create a more rewarding experience. They will be able to receive regular updates, participate in virtual or in-person ultrasounds, and be present in all the spaces agreed upon from the beginning of the process.

Yes, as long as the conditions established by the Constitutional Court are met. Our agency ensures that the process is carried out ethically and legally, providing security and support at every stage.

The average wait time is 3 to 4 weeks once the birth is registered. However, this depends on your nationality; each country's legislation is different. Additionally, if a situation arises that requires the surrogate mother or baby to spend additional time at the clinic, the average wait time is affected.
